This piece was designed and made for a sculpture exhibition, the design developed over many hours of exploring twisted shapes and we are delighted with the finished design that looks stunning when displayed in a large open space.
We made a pair of these benches out of Oak and we scorched the oak end panels to provide some texture and contrast.

This was an extremely challenging brief as we were called in to design the wooden elements to an existing formed concrete staircase, working with the clients and architect we developed this design that made full use of our making and CNC skills to make the walnut handrail.
These floating stair treads are made out Black walnut and Ash, there is a metal structure fixed into the wall that supports each of the treads. The sculptural treads are then applied to the metal supports to give the floating effect.
An excellent collaboration between Waywood, client and numerous professionals to achieve the desired effect.

We took some of the shapes that were used on the stair-treads to create this complementary piece.
This sculpture was created between two flights of stairs to create a safety barrier as well as the focal point of the room, they are made out of two layers of shaped chestnut uprights that pick up on the movement of reedbeds in the river that runs adjacent to the property.
This was made for a private house in Spain for a longstanding customer. The design developed over a series of meetings between ourselves and the client to create this stunning piece which stands over 6m in height.
