Olive ash is wood from a large
ash tree which has developed colour in the heartwood, typically shades of
buff and brown, and is so called because it in reminiscent of olive wood.
The wood in this table top comes from two consecutive
boards of ash, and has some lovely ripple in the white areas.
The black walnut legs emerge through the top and are
domed on their top surface. For those like me who had to look up the word
that describes their cross-section, lenticular just means lens-shaped. |
