| This piece was one where we
branched out with three 'lesser-known' tropical wood species which we
bought from Ecotimber - all new to us at the time.
The two main woods (Red sucupira and Angelim da
campigna) interested us in that they look and feel almost identical
except for their colour. They have a fascinating texture, reminiscent of
Wengé. We immediately wanted to combine them, and were very pleased
with the result.
As usual on a chest of drawers, we have used cedar of
Lebanon internally which gives a delicious scent when the drawers are
opened - unless you are a moth that is, in which case you will find it
repellent!
*FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification
ensures ecologically sound sourcing, without which we do not use
tropical woods. |
