MonkeyWiki: Free Links

Free Links are a way of implementing links within a wiki which don't limit you to the Camel Case method.

Typically they use something like square brackets around the target URL and the link's display text:

e.g. [http://go.here My nice link text]

Clearly there are advantages to this, but also disadvantages. I decided not to implement this in Monkey Wiki, for the following reasons:

The simplicity or 'wiki-ness' would be lost
For a technophobic audience any additional syntax to learn is undesirable. It is true that the syntax is hardly rocket science, but the same argument could be made for any additional feature, which taken together could mean a significant barrier for users.
Accidental Linking would never happen
